Terms of Service
Last updated August 25, 2026
These terms govern use of File Intake by firm admins who create an account. If you're a client uploading a document via a link from your firm, these terms don't require any action from you — see our Privacy Policy instead for how your information is handled.
What this service is
File Intake lets your firm create document checklists for your own clients, send them a secure upload link, and track what you've received. It is currently offered as a trial, with a limited number of client requests included; continued or expanded use may require payment in the future.
Your responsibilities
- You're responsible for the accuracy of the client contact information you enter, and for having a legitimate reason to request the documents you request.
- You're responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for activity that happens under your account.
- You won't use this service to request or collect documents from anyone without their knowledge, or for any unlawful purpose.
What we provide
We provide the platform as-is, during an active trial/beta period. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and we may make changes to features as the product develops. We'll make reasonable efforts to tell you about any change that affects your data or account before it happens.
Billing and refunds
Paid subscriptions (monthly, quarterly, or annual) are billed in advance and renew automatically for the same term until canceled. You can cancel anytime from your account's Billing page; canceling stops future renewals, and you keep access through the end of the period you've already paid for. All payments are non-refundable, including for partial periods and unused time after cancellation, except where required by applicable law.
Account termination
You can stop using the service and ask us to delete your account and its data at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms or is used for an unlawful purpose.
Limitation of liability
This service is provided during an early trial period. To the extent permitted by law, File Intake is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service. Nothing here limits liability where the law doesn't allow it to be limited.
